High Plains Grifter

High Plains Grifter is a Western-themed auction game with lots of hidden information and a little bit of set collection. Players take on the roles of dusty old prospectors, wagering dubious mining claims on games of cards. The game features a unique system of simultaneous auctions and card-based bidding, where each player stakes a mining claim to be auctioned off each round, and then everyone bids on the various claims using the playing cards in their hands. Only the player who staked each claim knows its true value, and where each claim is staked changes what cards can be bid on it for their full value. You’ll have to read the table and the other players to work out which claims to bid on if you want to win your fortune in this high stakes Western showdown!
