The Witch’s Cottage is a miniature escape room that I built for a friend’s Halloween party in October 2018. It was designed to be played by one to two players at a time and to take around twenty minutes to complete in order to allow everyone at the party to try it out over the course of the evening.
The whole ‘room’ was housed in a four foot by four foot tent that I constructed out of heavy black cloth draped over a PVC frame. The puzzles were all loosely occult-themed, but were also specifically inspired by classic Halloween tropes and activities, including a puzzle based on the classic bowl of “eyeballs” made from peeled grapes. And of course, the whole thing culminated with a grizzly jump scare, followed by a big bowl of free candy!
